WHAT YOU WILL DO

The Open Data Iron Chef is a practical and collaborative workshop that allows participants to brainstorm, conceptualize, and design the rudimentary business case for an Open Data powered civic tech application. Think of it as Open Data meets the Iron Chef meets the Dragon’s Den

It concludes with each team presenting their idea as a 30sec “elevator pitch" to a panel of judges who will then declare a winner.

The Open Data Iron Chef was first created in 2012 for Grade 10 highschool civics classes but has since evolved where it can also be presented to college and university students, as well as members of the public sector.

Below are links to videos of elevator pitches presented by a few of Dr. Pamela Robinson’s Master of Urban Planning Students.
