In 2003, Luc Jacquet spent 13 months in one of the most desolate and miserable places on Earth. While there he produced an 80min international sensation that would go on to win dozens of award, including an academy award, and gross over $127 million worldwide.

His creation was a documentary about the mating habits of penguins in Antarctica.

March of the Penguins demonstrated that you can take any subject, no matter how boring it may seem on the surface, and turn it into a compelling story. And it is time we all learn a lesson from Mr. Jacquet and begin to tell the stories about the heroes who are changing our government.

In this session you will learn the basics of storytelling, such as the three-act-structure; you will be introduced to free tools, such as Fade In; and see how Open Data sets can be used as inspiration. You will even get the chance to write your own plot summary for a fictional story.
