Naz Ali is the Senior Manager for Location Intelligence at CBRE Canada with over 20 years of experience in the GIS field, specializing in commercial real estate applications. She provides comprehensive market analysis across various commercial property types, including retail, industrial & logistics, and office leasing. Naz’s expertise lies in developing data-driven methods that empower businesses to make informed decisions.
Prior to joining CBRE Limited, Naz excelled as an Orthophoto and Map Finishing Technician at MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. During her tenure there, she actively contributed to multiple geospatial modeling projects, undertaking tasks such as orthorectification, geo-referencing, image interpretation, and mosaicking of satellite and airborne data. Additionally, she gained valuable experience in digitizing, editing, digital mapping, and graphic design as a Cartographic Technician and Production Head at a renowned map publishing company.
Beyond her role at CBRE, Naz is honored to serve as a member of the GIS Program Advisory Committee at British Columbia Institute of Technology, where she is equally thrilled to contribute as a part time Instructor. Through this involvement, she contributes insights and expertise to shape the GIS curriculum development, ensuring future professionals are equipped with the skills necessary for success in the industry. Naz is also an active board member at Women in GIS, where she provides support, encouragement, and mentorship to fellow women navigating their geospatial careers.
In her current position, Naz offers CBRE agents and their clients a range of invaluable services. These include site selection analysis, multi-variable modeling utilizing heat maps to showcase concentration patterns, drivetime analysis, comprehensive mobile data analysis, transportation and labour studies, as well as employee relocation analysis.
